Does your child sometimes have a DIFFICULT time at school? Would you like to see them handling competition, peer pressure, disappointment and bullying with MORE CONFIDENCE? Would you like to see your child be more resilient, empathetic and prepared for managing social media?
Would you like to give your child’s social development more attention and time, but aren’t sure how?
Adelaide Dramatherapy and Counselling is running SMALL GROUP, THERAPIST LED social skills “What’s the Buzz” programs – different from class-based, teacher led courses of 20-40 students.
Our unique delivery style means your child will receive MORE ATTENTION and have MORE TIME, enabling a DEEPER LEARNING EXPERIENCE.
The program fosters friendship connections between group members and encourages every participant to learn new social skills. It’s designed for young people who struggle to make friends and fit in socially. Young people who lack confidence, react too quickly and put others off, struggle to read the social cues, to bounce back after a setback and deal with day to day frustrations appropriately. In essence, they have trouble making sense of how the social systems they interact work: the family system, the school system or the friends system.
“WHAT’S THE BUZZ?” is used to build the social capacity of young people. The program is used in many countries, is highly regarded and includes 16 thoroughly structured, interactive lessons.
Group sizes are kept small to enhance the learning the experience.
Registrations for the NEW PROGRAM beginning on TUESDAY, 28th JULY, 2020 are now open. These specialised groups will be held weekly, on TUESDAYS from 6pm -7pm in the beautiful new facilities of Adelaide Dramatherapy and Counselling, overlooking Belair National Park, and is delivered by two trained and QUALIFIED THERAPISTS.
If you’d like to register your child for the 16 week program, please obtain your ticket today and we will contact you with more information regarding registration and payment.
Self-managed NDIS clients are able to use NDIS funding for the program and weekly parent newsletters with information and resources for you to support your child will be provided.
Feel free to message us if you have any questions or need any support registering your child.
