Port Lincoln Disability Action and Inclusion Plan

The Port Lincoln City Council is developing a Disability Action and Inclusion Plan (PLDAIP) for the town and is seeking public input.

Council, still in the early stages of the plan, is looking to hear from people living with disabilities, their carers and families, support workers and disability service providers.

The aim of the PLDAIP is to identify and address access and inclusion barriers to support and enable people with disabilities to participate in Port Lincoln life with dignity.

A short targeted survey has been prepared and encourages relevant community members to complete the survey which can be found here and will be open until 5.00pm Thursday November 5th 2020.

Mayor Brad Flaherty said, “Council is committed to supporting a community that is accessible and inclusive for everyone and this is a key focus of our Draft Strategic Directions Plan currently out for public consultation.”

“The development of the plan will include measures and strategies to support people with disability and enable Council to provide better access to built environs, events and facilities along with addressing specific needs of people with disability in our community, said Mayor Brad Flaherty.

Further consultation will be undertaken and involve the broader community once the plan has been developed from the initial feedback.
